I grew up in Hong Kong, inside my parents’ factory — a place built on hard work, grit, and possibility. Nothing glamorous. Nothing artistic. But it taught me the values that shape my work today: discipline, resilience, and the belief that you build your own path.
As soon as I was working age, I took every job I could find. One of them was a sales job at the United Color of Benetton store in a local mall, and that’s where everything shifted. A colleague — half Asian, also a model — looked at me and said, “Toronto needs more Asian faces. You should try.”
That dare opened the door to modeling and introduced me to the world of photography, presence, and the emotional language of being seen. I didn’t know it then, but those years in front of the camera became the foundation of the work I do now.
Later, life took me to Switzerland.
A new country.
A new language.
No fashion industry.
And none of the creative world I once knew.
So I worked.
Waitressing. Bartending. Teaching piano, English, even sushi making classes.
There was nothing wrong with the work — it kept me going — but I knew I wasn’t living as the fullest version of myself.
When I became a mother, everything changed. The job I had at the time ended suddenly because my German wasn’t “good enough,” and that moment gave me the clarity I needed:
No one else will ever decide my livelihood again.
I will build something of my own.
Photography became the way forward — not because it was easy, but because it was mine.
A medium where my eye, instinct, and story could finally converge.
A profession where my work could speak louder than my German ever would.
Today, I run a portrait studio in Basel where I photograph executives, founders, and people stepping into important chapters of their lives. My work is not about looking perfect. It’s about presence — calm, grounded, elegant presence — the kind that reflects who you are at your strongest.
Whether you are camera-shy, evolving into a new identity, or simply ready for portraits that feel like you, my role is to guide you with clarity and ease:
expression, posture, energy, intention.
A blend of artistry and psychology.
