When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was very lucky and felt amazing from the beginning to birth, I enjoyed my pregnancy so much. It was a fascinating time, how my body changed and my skin was amazing, my hair was thick and shiny. I literally felt like a fertility goddess, and I hope you feel that way too. Don’t get me wrong, there are days when I felt like a blown up balloon, back is hurting and other mom’s glory. No pain, no glory right? That’s why I believe self care and some extra pampering is even more important for you. You are literally creating a miracle, so you are basically - holy, that’s why I’ve designed my session to include hair & makeup, healthy snacks and drinks to keep you in as much ease as possible.

Here are some tips on how to prepare for your maternity session

  • Moisturize that belly! But avoid wearing anything over the belly before the shoot. We don’t want those marks on your belly.

  • Manicure is a must, your man or little ones too.

  • Bring along a few props: the ultrasound printout of your baby

  • Wear something that you feel comfortable and pretty in – long, flowy skirts, stick with solids are best, and strapless bras that coordinate with them. I have a small collection of maternity dresses you are welcome to use.

  • Bring a pair of regular jeans, not the belly panel ones. A button-up shirt also makes it easy to transition into showing your belly. Lacy dresses are very flattering and elegant choice.

  • Accessories like a lovely necklace, earrings are great to bring along to go with your outfits.

  • Bring along smooth nude bra and undergarments, lace bras are beautiful on their own, but if you plan to wear a top over, smooth seamless bras are a better choice, strapless is also a good idea for open neck top.

  • Your significant other can join near the end of the session! They are part of the story and greatly expand on the number of different photos you can make during your shoot. They should bring outfits that coordinate with what you’ll be wearing. The focus should always be on you, your expressions, your emotions, your personality, your joy and your connection with the life that is growing inside of you.

  • Bring the big sister/brother. These images will be extra sweet and priceless heirloom.
