WHAT TO BRING

KEY POINTS

• 3+ Outfits in dark & light in neutral, solid color
  Pressed & clean, hang in garment bag, not folded

• From waist up, don’t worry too much about pants or shoes, one set is fine

• Bring along any props if they reflect your brand
  Hat, jewellery, musical instrument

• Glasses if you normally wear them

What you bring to your shoot is very important. Here are some ideas to help prepare for your shoot. Always try on the outfits if you are unsure and be sure take a snap of each and send them to me a few days before the shoot.

3 OUTFITS Bring at least 3 different looks. Something dark, something light. Some ideas include: suit with or without tie, sports jacket and dress shirt, something casual such as a polo or button-down shirt & khakis or jeans. Your outfits should reflects your brand & position. All your clothing should be clean and pressed.

NEUTRAL IS BEST Neutral solid colors or muted patterns, layers and clean lines work best and are flattering for most body types for professional portraits and head shots. Avoid anything with big logos (unless you are branding), bright colors, narrow pin striping, or tiny patterns such as checks/dots/ribbing.

FROM WASIT UP Headshots are usually taken from about the waist up, or chest up, so you don’t need to worry much about what kind of pants or shoes you wear. Something which goes with your top will be fine. They should fit right and you feel confident in them. 

GLASSES please bring them if you like to have that look or you usually wear them.

PROPS If you have a favorite hat, musical instrument, necklace, leather jacket, etc. that tells your story and shows more of your personality then by all means bring them. You can choose which to use throughout the shoot. They'll be great tools to try different looks without completely changing your wardrobe.
